Are not these very relevant questions? Obviously. But this is not any table-top, brainstorming exercise anymore. These are the exact questions that the stake-holders are raising in progressively louder voice, keeping their eyes fixed on your organization. The society, the pressure groups, the business partners, the Governments, the NGOs, the international forums, ILO and other UN bodies to which you subscribe, are gradually coming together to ensure that a viable Health, Safety and Environmental culture is taking root in the business entities.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has formulated instruments to assist organizations comply to legal and other requirements in its Environmental Management System standard ISO 14001. Likewise, OHSAS 18001 specification takes care of the Occupational Health and Safety Management issues specified in the said specification.
A basic knowledge of the two standard/specification and their implementation will enhance the internal and external strength of any organization.
