Quick and Easy Financial Decision Making Techniques

Introduction

Investors, entrepreneurs and business managers need to take hundreds of casual to critical financial decisions almost every day. The volume of decision making scenarios is so high that it becomes difficult to critically scrutinize each and every scenario before taking a decision. Many rely on experiences and intuitions. However, it requires scientific techniques that quickly examine the decision making scenarios and provide a number of findings that help in decision making. This course is designed to introduce and apply a number of such quick and easy techniques of financial decision making.

At the end of this course, the participants will demonstrate the below skills:

(2) Use a number of numeric tools for financial analysis;
(3) Take investment/asset and loan/liability related financial decisions using relevant financial techniques;
(4) Take Revenue and Expense related financial decisions using relevant financial techniques.

Methodology

The programme will be delivered using formal lectures combined with practical and interactive case studies and exercises. There will be a great emphasis on gaining practical experiences.

Contents of Training:

Module 1: Financial Decision Making Scenarios
In this module, participants will define financial decisions and identify common scenarios faced everyday by business managers. They will also explain the scenarios and identify objectives of each scenario.

Module 2: Financial Techniques
There are number of universal financial techniques that help most financial decision making. The participants will learn few of such techniques in this module. They will learn how to make financial assumptions based on research. They will also learn nominal and time value of money concept, forecasting and valuation techniques.

Module 3: Taking Financial Decisions Related to Investment and Liability
In this module, the participants will learn the techniques that will help them about whether to invest in an asset or not. They will learn how to compare a number of investment options to make the best decision. The module will also teach the participants on how to analyze and compare loans to take the best lending decision.

Module 4: Taking Financial Decisions Related to Revenue and Expenses
The company may not sell everything. It will sell only the optimum portfolio. This module will teach the participants on how to take the best revenue related financial decisions. The module will also provide practical skills on taking decision related to operating expenses.
