How to Make Infographic PowerPoint Presentations

Introduction

Death by PowerPoint?!

An average of 350 presentations are pitched globally in every second. Yet, creativity isn’t the first word you’d associate with the average business presentation/project proposal/sales pitch these days. Slides “designed” using dreadful built-in templates, crawling with bullet points and paragraphs in tiny fonts, which presenters then read out in a monotone using meaningless corporate jargon. As soon as the presentation is over, the idea being pitched is almost dead!

Presentation System Loss

You can easily calculate how much the poor presentations are costing your own department or organization. Start by estimating the number of internal presentations that are done per week. Include management briefings, customer presentations, project updates, staff meetings and other presentations. This number is usually higher than we first think it would be. Then, estimate what percentage of those presentations are done poorly resulting in additional work- hours spent on additional research, extra documentation, more meetings and reviews. It is not unusual to find this is 10-15 hours per poor presentation.

Story of the Ultimate Storyteller!

Apple® founder Steve Jobs was known widely for building his presentations around powerful visual aids. He knew that slides are most effective when they tell a story rather than convey ONLY information, so his visuals were simple, elegant, and image-based. They complemented and reinforced his message, and they never competed with him for his audience's attention. You don't have to be Steve Jobs to give a great presentation, but you do need great visuals/proper animations/aesthetic visual plug Ins behind you. They convey a powerful message about your ideas and your brand, so it's essential to get them right.
