Introduction

Small Scale Enterprise is the key to enter medium and large-scale business. A great number of people engaged in small business facing different problem. A large number of educated and unemployed want to start business but do now know how to do that. This course will show the way how to lead existing business or to start a small business to contribute in country’s’ economy.

Shankar Sikder

Business Development Specialist

Shankar Sikder has been involving in the field of teaching, training, communication, administration, event management, business development, international relation and human rights activities in different NGOs and Corporate sectors for over 15 years.

He started his full time career in 2001 with Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) as Executive Secretary under FIFA Goal Project, appointed by Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Malaysia. He was the first and last FIFA appointed representative in Bangladesh Football Federation (2001 to 2005). In September 2005 he joined a national NGO CSS Bangladesh where he served as business development consultant, SMED coordinator, Program Manager and Director International Affairs. Finally he worked with the largest national human rights organization Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) as Director Administration. In addition he is the founder of a child friendly school William Shakespeare Academy.

He completed his Masters degree in English Literature from Chittagong University in 1998. Subsequently he studied on several professional fields like i) Research Methodology of Business from Bureau of Business Studies, Dhaka University; ii) Advanced Certificate in Business Administration (ACBA) from IBA, Dhaka University topics include: Accounting & Finance for Managerial Decisions, Marketing in a Changing Environment, Human Resources & Employee Relations, Strategic Planning and Innovation Management, iii) Chartered Secretary – CS 2324 Part 1 from Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) topics include: a) Organization & Human Resource Management b) General and Commercial Law c) Business Economics & Statistics and iv) Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Human Resources Management under Association of Business Processional (BBP).

He also completed Certificate in Disability Management and Education (CDMEd), PISER, Bangladesh University of Professional (BUP) topics includes i) Child Development and Early Intervention, ii) Education and Psychological Foundation of Education, iii) Children with Special needs and the Teaching Strategies, iv) Physical and Occupational Therapies for the Children with Special needs, v) Communication Issues and Speech Language Therapy for the Children with specials needs
